Cama was established in 1954, by my grandfather, as an Artisans' Cooperative in the Art of Majolica. It was the first cooperative in Deruta consisting of nine partners, serving the best retail stores in the United States with distinguished quality dinnerware and accessories. Featured in cookbooks such as Starbuck’s "Passion for Coffee” and in the movie “Mrs. Doubtfire” (1993), Cama Deruta rose to international fame in the 1990s. The workshop was officially closed in 2011.
