Lockdown learnings

My last experience out in the world before March 2020

About a year ago in March, when the Covid-19 lockdown began, I had just returned from a trip to Frankfurt, where I helped a dear friend sell her handmade greeting cards at the most important exhibition in the paper industry called Paperworld. 

Apart from this experience, my life these past years was pretty segregated already: I only used to run here and there, looking for people to create something with. Now that I think of it, it's been all a big mistake. Though, what remains of my tests on the territory is my essay about opera singer Berardo Berardi and several good people and friends, who are now accompanying me on my revival journey for Cama. 

So, staying home is not an issue for me. Now that last December I joined the non-profit organization called "100mila Ripartenze" (tr.100,000 Italian company recoveries), helping me get back to work with my own project, I have set my deadline at the end of this year to make my dream enterprise come true. 

As a matter of fact, right now I do not care about meeting new people randomly or going to places and to local administrations hat in hand. I feel that with "100mila Ripartenze" I am in the right place. One exception to the contacts I had during my past experiences is the Municipality of Gualdo Cattaneo, where mayor Andrea Pensi supported my project for the territory: a plaque to remember opera singer Berardo Berardi.

Moreover, one additional thing I have learned in lockdown is the use of contemporary books. This is very important to me. First of all, my favorite books are essays. I truly love essays from the time these books were assigned to me for my school exams. 

Then in lockdown books turned out to be an efficient bonding agent during the stay-home period. Once again even on the net, I have been looking for connections. One thing I have done is create a Facebook group for my publisher, which I have personally administrated for four months with much success. However in the end the experience turned out to be fruitless or even create problems for me. So I have quit the project as I was a volunteer. 

Regarding books, I also feel that in these essays I find the answers to all my questions about my years spent searching and testing. It's like talking to the authors: I can hear their voices while I am reading their books. In these freshly released texts, I can find the right directions to my path and what's great is that I am learning everything effortlessly. 

In conclusion, life learning experiences can turn positive even during a lockdown period, and in fact, lessons are better learned during hard times. From now on, no more distractions for me. Once and for all. There is nothing out there of any good for me unless I follow a certain line of conduct, that I can now envision more clearly thanks to this final challenging period.
